Humans

Oh, human, so grand, so full of pride,
In this vast universe, you try to abide.
With your towering skyscrapers, your gadgets so fine,
Yet in the grand scheme, you’re just a speck in time.

You strut and you preen, with your ego so vast,
But in cosmic proportions, you’re just aghast.
Your wars and your politics, your petty squabbles,
In the eyes of the cosmos, mere trifles and baubles.

You claim dominion, you conquer and rule,
But Mother Nature laughs, for she’s nobody’s fool.
You think you’re the center, the pinnacle of creation,
But in reality’s mirror, just a blip, an aberration.

So build your empires, your monuments tall,
But remember, dear human, you’re not the end-all.
In the grand tapestry of time and space,
You’re just a fleeting moment, a flicker, a trace.

So laugh at yourself, with a touch of disdain,
For in the cosmic comedy, you’re but a grain.
Embrace your insignificance, your humble place,
And maybe, just maybe, you’ll find a little grace.
