Gone

In the quiet corners of our shared rooms,
Lingers a silence that now deeply looms.
Where laughter once danced, echoes retreat,
And memories in the shadows quietly meet.

Your voice, a melody, once filled the air,
Now whispers from somewhere unseen, somewhere rare.
The world spins on, indifferent, fast,
While I hold fragments of a now distant past.

Every sunset, a reminder of the day’s close,
Like the final chapter of a book no one chose.
Your absence a weight, heavy and profound,
In the spaces where your footsteps no longer sound.

I reach through the twilight, seeking your hand,
Only to grasp the cold whisper of sand.
With each breaking dawn, I learn anew,
How much of me was, in truth, just you.

Tears trace stories down cheeks, unsaid,
Wishing for one more day, one word unread.
Yet, love, not even death can truly sever,
For in my heart, you will dwell forever.
